bind与bound

一、首先归纳bind: (bind-bound-bound)

 1,to tie somebody/ something with rope, string, etc. so that they cannot move or are held together firmly捆绑；系

He was left bound and gagged(= tied up and with a piece of cloth tied over his mouth).他被捆起来，用布封住嘴，扔在那儿了。

 2,(用长布条）缠绕She bound up his wounds. 她把他的伤口包扎好。

 3,书籍[usually passive]to fasten the pages of a book together and put them inside a cover装订

  *book binding machine装书机

 4，to sew the edge of something to decorate it or to make it stronger给…镶边；缝牢…的边

  *The blankets were bound with satin. 那些毯子是用缎子包边的。

 5，binding:that must be obeyed because it is accepted in law必须遵守的；有法律约束力的

 *a binding promise/ agreement/ contract有约束力的承诺╱协议╱合同

记忆树枝：bind的第一个意思绑，系，相当于tie是刚开始学这个单词时学的。缠绕是石立林老师教过的，装订是在Cindy发的打印资料上出现的。 缝...的边是自己在阅读里边碰到过的，binding是在做80篇专四完形填空中练习出现过的。

Bound:

1,作动词：

  A,to run with long steps, especially in an enthusiastic way跳跃着跑

    The dogs bounded ahead. 那些狗在前面蹦蹦跳跳地跑。

  B,to form the edge or limit of an area形成…的边界（或界限）

The field was bounded on the left by a wood. 那片地左边依傍着一片树林。

2,做形容词：

   A，be bound to do一定会，很可能会

   B，be bound by sth.:forced to do something by law, duty or a particular situation受（法律、义务或情况）约束（必须做某事）；有义务（做某事）

       You are bound by the contract to pay before the end of the month.按照合同规定，你必须在月底前付款。

  C,be bound for...前往某地或某方向

  homeward bound (= going home)在回家途中

  a plane bound for Dublin 开往都柏林的飞机

  Paris-bound 前往巴黎的

  northbound/ southbound/ eastbound/ westbound向北╱向南╱向东╱向西行进的

3，作为后缀 -bound:

  A,that describes a person who finds it impossible or very difficult to leave the specified place.  表示“离不开…的”，“难以离开…的”

  I'm pretty desk-bound, which is very frustrating. 我基本上一直需要伏案工作，这真让人沮丧。

  B.which describes  a place that is greatly affected by the specified type of weather. 表示“受…天气影响的”

   Three people were hurt in a 12-car pile up on a fog-bound motorway yesterday. 昨天在大雾弥漫的高速公路上发生的12辆汽车连环相撞事故导致3人受伤

  *duty-bound:having to do sth because it is your duty 责无旁贷的；义不容辞的

I felt duty-bound to help him. 我觉得帮助他责无旁贷。

总结：在bound的过程中，做动词的两个意思是在阅读里边碰到过的。还是较为少见。但是会发现其他的意思中大多好像跟bind的缠住，帮助的意思有关，表达一种束缚，如责任、法律、义务还有某种具体条件的束缚。
