关于考研英语——单词、阅读理解及长难句的复习建议

这些天有些学生发邮件问到一些考研的复习问题，问题的重点归纳起来是：单词、阅读以及长难句。在此谈谈我的个人看法，供考研复习参考：

单词的记忆千万不要就仅仅拿着一本单词书每天狂背，试图把单词关彻底攻克后再去阅读文章，这是一个很大的误区，因为你很难提前攻克掉所有的单词。所以请在背单词的同时去阅读文章，在阅读的过程当中再去不断强化和重新记忆单词。另外，每天背单词的量一定要大，记着，单词的记忆往往不在于每天死死地就记了几十个生单词，而在于每天多次重复了大量的单词。所以当记忆一个单词的时候，不要刻求一遍彻底记忆，而要在不断的重复当中记忆。

关于阅读真题的复习，我的建议：不应该是去做真题，而是应该去研究真题。换句话说，花上一天的时间你可以就只看一篇阅读理解的文章，但要达到以下三个标准：1. 没有一个单词不认识。2. 没有一个长难句不会分析。3.每个选项都知道为什么对为什么错。

 至于长难句，是很多人头疼困惑的地方，我的建议是：长难句很重要，是理解文章的一个基础，当遇到长难句时候，要学会主动学习，去翻阅一些关于考研长难句的相关书籍，这种书市面上有很多，你不可能把所有的版本都买来，建议你不妨经常去书店只看不买，把不同版本的书对同一个句子的解读都看看。这个过程一旦你实践了，你将会对那个你不理解的句子记忆非常深刻。以下以一个学生的邮件为例，这个学生要我解答关于两个长难句的疑问，我在第一封回复中，并没有直接作答，而是让他（她）自己去书店翻书，结果自己就完全解决了一个句子，而另一个句子仍然有疑问，于是我在第二封回复中给了详细的解答，这样下来我相信他（她）的记忆一定会更为深刻。所以请记着，要主动去学习，要主动去解决问题！

这个句子仍然有两个地方不太懂：

（1）“in their own right”放在这句话里还是翻不出来；（2）“……only if they incorporate, and reflect on, the wider geological picture.”划线这部分为什么有两个逗号隔开呢，是什么语法现象吗？

1. in their own right的意思是“从他们自身来讲，本身上说”，

local geological studies represented worthwhile research in their own right 的意思是：当地的一些地质学研究本身代表了很有价值的科研活动。

2. local studies have increasingly become acceptable to professionals only if they incorporate, and reflect on, the wider geological picture.

and reflect on其实是一个并列谓语，和前面的incorporate并列。

only if they incorporate, and reflect on, the wider geological picture. 就相当于only if they incorporate the wider geological picture and they reflect on the wider geological picture. 意思是：只有当他们包含并反映更宽泛的地质范围时。

local studies have increasingly become acceptable to professionals 的意思是：这些当地的研究不断地被专业人士所接受。

整句话的意思是：在19世纪，当地的一些地质学研究本身代表了很有价值的科研活动。但是在20世纪，只有当这些研究包含并反映更宽泛的地质范围时，才能不断地被专业人士所接受。
