       30年前，Earl Tai博士读高中时就开始教授艺术和数学课程。从那时起，他开始教授和监管广泛的教育项目，包括：艺术，设计，英语，历史，数学和当代理论学，孩子的年龄从学龄前到研究生。最近，他担任纽约帕森设计学院艺术设计系执行主席。他将分享作为家长和一个教育者的经验，为我们提供一系列实用的教育的方法和教育的目标，并且将和大家讨论家长和老师如何支持这一进程。

 We are delighted to invite you to join a talk and discussion entitled “Raising Responsible, Kind and Successful Children” by Dr. Earl Tai, art teacher at YKPS and Associate Professor at Parsons the New School for Design in New York.

Dr. Tai first began teaching over thirty years ago, when he started teaching art and math as a high school student. Since then he has taught and overseen educational programs in a broad range of subjects, including art, design, English, history, math, and contemporary theory, for students from pre-school through graduate school. Most recently, he served as Acting Chair of the Department of Art and Design Studies for Parsons in New York. Sharing from his experience as a parent and as an educator, he will offer a practical overview of some of the methods and goals of education and will discuss how parents and teachers can support the process.

Some themes of the discussion will include:
- Understanding the broad arc of education

- Setting appropriate goals as a parent or teacher

- Understanding and managing discipline

- Setting a healthy foundation for future social development and civic engagement

This event is free and open to the public, so please feel free to bring friends and acquaintances who may be interested.

Time: 10:00-11:30am Saturday 12th June, 2010 (There will be a 45 minute talk followed by a 45 minute question and discussion time. Since the introductory talk will set the context for the discussion to follow, please make every effort to arrive on time.)
