occur 2 [ [5k[: ] v.  (不用于被动语态;尤指主意和想法突然浮现于脑中)想起;想到
—It suddenly occurred to me I hadn't see Peter all day.   
     我突然想到,我一整天都没看见彼得。
这些词汇应该记住:
1. to cross sb.'s mind [5krCs 5maind]   (主意,想法等)闪现;掠过;一闪而过
— It never crossed my mind that she might lose.    我从未想到她会失败。
2. strike [ straik ] v.  (过去式struck [ strQk ];过去分词striken [5strIk[n])突然产生某种想法
—It struck Mr.Chao that what he said about wang applied to her too.
     赵先生突然意识到他说的那些话也适合自己。
3. to have a thought [ 5hAv 5WC:t ] 想起某事;想过某事
—Have you thought about renting a shop?     你想过租一家店吗?
—Who'd have thought he'd turn out to he such a softy.
    谁会想到他原来是这样一个软骨头。
4. to come to sb.  (不用于被动语态;尤指突然地)想起;意识到
—The solution came to him in a flash.    他灵机一动,计上心来。
—The proper word didn't come to me.     我没有想出适当的词句来。
* to come to mind  出现在某人脑海中
—The title just won't come to mind.      那个标题就是想不起来。
—His follies come to mind along with his kindnesses
     他的愚蠢行为和仁慈之心一起涌现在脑海里。
* to spring to mind [5sprIN]  出现在某人脑海中
—What are the first things that spring to mind when Ireland is mentioned?
    当提及爱尔兰时,跳入脑海中的会是什么?
—Nothing spring to my mind.   我没想到啥。
* to come up with an idea [ai5di[]  想到一个主意           
—Never expect him to come up with a brilliant idea.      别指望他能够想出好主意。
5. to hit upon/on a good idea [5hIt [5pCn/Cn]   忽然想到一个妙主意
—Peter hit on an idea that will get us out of our difficulty.
    幸好彼得想出了一个办法能使我们摆脱困境。
— Suddenly it hit me. He wastrying to ask me to marry him.
     我突然明白了,他是在向我求婚。       itsel
6. to suggest itself to sb. [s[5dVAst Itself]   想到;浮现在脑海里
— An idea suggests itself to me.    我想起一个主意来。
这些词汇应该知道, 掌握更好:
1. brainwave [ 5breinweiv ] n.  (英)灵感;突然想到的妙计
—I've just had a brainwave; I know the answer!     我刚才灵机一动,找到了答案!
* brainstorm  [ 5breinstC:m ] n. (美)突然想到的妙计;灵感
— Unless you have a brainstorm.I don't see how we're going to get out of this.
     除非你能想出一着妙计,不然我看不出我们如何能摆脱困境。
2. invoke [ In5v[Uk ] v.  (指在脑海中浮现某种想法,形象,感受等)唤起;想起
— His earlier novels invoke a romanticized picture of life in the countryside.
     他早期为小说使人脑海中浮现一副乡村生活的浪漫图画。
