“A~Z” Tips without “GIVE UP

----The way to improve our English

   English is becoming more and more important since China is has become indispensable to the whole world. Especially for us students.

      Here the problem is that “In what way can we students improve our English more efficiently?” As we know, even the university is the place of high-level education and most of the high school students have the chance to go to university, the English level of Chinese students is not optimistic: according to a report published by IELTS (International English Language Testing System), the average score of the IELTS of Chinese students is always bottom in Asia. So does that mean that our Chinese students don’t take effort to learn English? Of course not! Maybe we Chinese Students are the most hard word students in the whole world, but the method we use in learning English may be not that appropriate.

       The follow tips are the way which I think are very helpful to improve our English. (And I can’t do most of them…)

      Aspiration:

       We need to have aspirations to learn English well. If you even don’t want to pay attention to it, there is no chance for you to handle it.

      Books:

       No matter which English contest you are going to take part in, some useful books are always indispensable. For example: books of Cambridge and New Oriental are really famous and helpful. They can help you pass the exam in a much more efficient way.

      Confidence:

       Especially in the aspect of our speaking English, we shouldn’t feel abnormal when we speak English in front of many people. Be confident and try your best to speak it even though you are really not good at it.

      Destination:

       You have to know which level you want to reach, what your destination is. This will help you to make plan for your English study.

   Without giv’E’ up:

   Familiar:

       It is really common for us to feel familiar to a English word but we still can’t know what does it mean. In this occasion, we should look up this word and take it down, or we may even don’t feel familiar to it at the next time.

   Without ‘G’ive up

   Handbook:

       To make full use of our spare time, no matter where you are, you should take some little English books with you, just in case that when you have noting to do. For example, you can recite some English words while you are waiting the bus, you can read an English article while you are in a boring meeting, you also can……

   Without g’I’ve up

   Journal:

       When we read some English article, we may find some special phrase that looks very simple but we don’t what does it really mean. There are some really simple examples: a piece of cake, look out, bite-sized pieces and so on. What’s more, we can hardly found these phrases in our vocabulary books. Journals, however, include many typically English phrases, such as “Times”, “People”…….

      Listen:

       Both BBC Learning English and VOA (or VOA special English) are very good aural materials. Not only the speed is suitable for us college student, but also the content of them is very useful for us. As for enhancing our listening ability, in my opinion, compared with listening many English materials everyday, it is much better to pay all our attention to only a small number of English articles, which means listen to them again and again until you can distinguish every word from the passage. Believe me, it dose work!

   Music && Movie:

      Listen some English music not only can inspire our interests in English, but also we can learn some culture things. Here I recommend http://www.kupig.cn/

       As for the movie, as long as we can use it in a right way, it will become very very useful to us. For example, no caption is a good choice.

   Note:

       Even though almost all of us have a PC, it is also important to take note sometimes. Only in this way can we memory the spelling of words more exactly.

   Question:

       Since the Internet Technology is a matured technology now. All kinds of English BBS and forum is available, once you post your question there, there will be many people help you in time.

   Reading:

       We should read two passages of English everyday at least. Since the circumstance around us is so Chinese and we can hardly feel any English thing, reading something written in English appears much more important. While we do the reading, there is no need for us to look up every word you don’t know (that will make us feel that reading is boring), just finish the reading in the way you like.

   Speaking:

       “Dumb English” used to be a very famous phrase among the Chinese students: Even though there are many students can get a very high score in the English exam, they can’t communicate in English. Li Yang Crazy English is just about this problem. I have attended his class once, in his opinion, we should speak aloud no matter what you are doing, as long as it has something to do with the English, that’s crazy, uh-huh?

   TV play:

       “Friends”, “The big bang theory” for example, I believe even in China, most of us know at least one of the two, just because they are so famous. In the TV play, you will see or hear all kinds of purity daily English, as if you are really in America!

   Velocity:

       Here I want to say that Velocity, or say the speed, is really important in all kinds of English test. In most cases, you can’t pass a certain English exam successfully not because you can’t answer them right, but because you can’t finish them in time. So we should practice reading or writing English in a faster way.

Cant’ find a proper word.

   Yester-:

English learning is a long trip, and there is a great chance for us to forget what we have learned yesterday or yesteryear, so we should form the habit of reviewing.
