A festival for the Dead is a Japanese annual festival, a cheerful occasion. As the dead return home, food is laid out for them and the lanterns are lit outsides each home to guide them. People dance and sing all night and uneaten food will be thrown into the sea or a river in the next morning. In some places the lanterns are placed into the sea and people watch them from the shore until they slowly drift out of sight.（80 words）
