last week, xiaoxiao has a writing assignment--to
answer "what three things do you treasure most in life?", and here
is what she
wrote:
I treasure gold because I can buy a lot of things, like fancy clothes, necklaces, and fancy furniture. I might even be famous too. I'll have money to travel to places I want. I can buy book if I want to, or toys.
I treasure more friends because they can play with meor help me with homework. We can have
sleepovers, playdates, and it will be fun. We will be friends
forever.
I treasure family. I can have food, and never be hungary. I will not be poor. I'll have a dad, mom, maybe a sister or brother. I can have fun with a family.
(* Such assignment is the free-writingexercise and the teacher does not
have specific
requirements. xiaoxiao usually
finishes it very fast and carelessly, with some
spelling and grammar mistakes. i do not correct
them and just let her do it her way. but for this
one, though not a good essay, i am touched by the
content.)
