一个小学生为了参加所谓的英文演讲比赛，用中文写了一篇演讲稿，老同事让我翻译一下，我觉得有点为难，却不说中文的演讲稿写得如何，就是按照中文来翻译真没有了那种英文的味道。功利的社会让孩子从小就学会了功利，如果真想进行英语演讲，为什么不让孩子按照自己的英语程度来写来讲呢？

 然而，受人所托，不得不为之。感觉下面的文章没有了孩子的幼稚口吻，也没有了成人的成熟语气，真的是不伦不类！自己都觉得对不起自己。

The Place I Want To Visit Most

     There are many places that I want to visit. I hope to see the famous mountains and rivers in China. I also hope to visit the places of interest all over the world. What’s more, I wish to fly a spaceship and explore the space.

However, the place I want to visit most is the library in Harvard University. Here I’ll call it Harvard library. I loved books when I was little. I enjoy reading books very much. Books are my best friends. Reading is the funniest thing for me. Tales, poems, novels and even books on history are all my favorite. As long as I can learn something from it, I won’t let the book go.

On my desk there is a book. Its name is White Night In Harvard. I have read it many times. The book tells me the stories in Harvard University. It describes the scenes in Harvard Library. They attract me deeply. It makes me long for Harvard Library. I long for taking walks in the campus of Harvard University. I long for reading in the library so that I can be in the sea of knowledge. Of course, there I am able to get more knowledge and know more truth.

Harvard library is the place I want to visit most. Though it’s difficult for me to achieve this goal, I am going to study harder. I’ll try my best to make my dream come true.

I will be waiting for you in Harvard library in 10 years!
