round 和around的区别

答：好的。在用法上，作介词用的round 和around以前是有差别的：round和表示动态的动词

（比如go, move）连用，比如：The moon moves round the earth. (月亮绕着地球运转。)

而around和表示静态的动词（比如sit, live）连用，比如：The children were sitting

around the table. (孩子们围着桌子坐。)

但是，现在几乎没有这种用法上的差别了。只是在表示“大约”（about）时，英国英语一般用round。

美国英语一般用around。 比如：

He will go to New York from Washington around April.

(大约在4月他将从华盛顿去纽约。— 美国英语) /

He bought a book in London and paid round ten pounds.

(他在伦敦买了一本书，大约用去10英镑。— 英国英语)

另外，介词around在美国英语中，还可以表示一些特殊意义：“关于”、“回避”、

“服务”、“附近”。比如：

1）  They will have a discussion around this topic. (他们将围绕这个题目进行讨论。)

2）  How can we get around that regulation? (我们怎样才能规避那条规则呢？)

3）  My father has been around the major league for 5 year. (我父亲在棒球协会已经干了5年。)

4）  Tell him not to come around here. (告诉他，不要到附近来。)
