问：at all costs、at any cost、at cost和at the cost of有什么区别没有？我从没有去过成都，但是我喜欢《时代英语》。请罗教授一定详细解释一下。

   答：at all cost、at any cost表示“不惜任何代价，不管怎样，无论如何”。比如：The bridge must repaired within three days at all costs (at any cost). (无论如何要在三天之内把桥修好。) at cost表示“按成本价格，按原价”。比如：You may take these goods at cost. (你可以按成本价购买这些货物。)  at the cost of表示“以……为代价，牺牲”。比如：He saved the girl’s life at the cost of his own. (他牺牲自己的生命救了那个姑娘。)

       注意，cost这个单词在不同的上下文中，可以有不同的汉语译文。比如：cost account (成本帐户，成本计算), cost and freight (货价加运价，离岸加运费价格), cost and damages (讼费和损害费), cost applied account (实支费用帐), cost behavior (成本变动形态), cost effective method (费用低廉的方法，价廉物美的方法), cost flow (成本流动), cost free (负费), cost of cost (造价，建筑工程费用), cost of money (利息), cost of price (原价，成本价，工本费), cost of service (劳务费), cost order (成本制度，成本规程), cost push (成本推动，成本增加趋势。)
