round 和around 的区别

答：好的。谢谢你对《时代英语》的关爱和支持。在用法上，作介词用的round 和around以前是有差别的：round和表示动态的动词（比如go, move）连用，比如：The moon moves round the earth. (月亮绕着地球运转。) 而around和表示静态的动词（比如sit, live）连用，比如：The children were sitting around the table. (孩子们围着桌子坐。)

但是，现在几乎没有这种用法上的差别了。只是在表示“大约”（about）时，英国英语一般用round。美国英语一般用around。 比如：He will go to New York from Washington around April. (大约在4月他将从华盛顿去纽约。— 美国英语) / He bought a book in London and paid round ten pounds. (他在伦敦买了一本书，大约用去10英镑。— 英国英语)

另外，介词around在美国英语中，还可以表示一些特殊意义：“关于”、“回避”、“服务”、“附近”。比如：
