Founded in 514 BC, Suzhou has over 2500 years of history, with
an abundant display of relics and sites of historical interest. The
most impressive is that its layout has never been changed since it
was built 2500+ years ago. During the Ming and Qing dynasties,
Suzhou was a national economic, cultural, and commercial center, as
well as the largest non-capital city in the world, until the 1860
Taiping Rebellion.
Suzhou Museum of Inscribed Stone Tablet/苏州碑刻博物馆 is a must-see
attraction to explore Suzhou history. Almost 1000 years ago, Mr.
Fan Zhongyan as Suzhou mayor decided to transform his private
ancestral house into the public educational institute in Song
Dynasty because poeple thought the place had good geomancy in the
form of Feng Shui.
It was refurbished into Suzhou Museum of Inscribed Stone
Tablet and Suzhou Confucian Temple in 1986, which is a temple for
the veneration of Confucius and sages and philosophers of
Confucianism in Chinese folk religion.
Confucius and Confucianism have had a great impact on Chinese
education and relationship among Chinese people.
Confucius is so well-known across China, even around the
world, that almost every big city in China has a Confucian Temple.
Some countries such as Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia also have the
Confucian Temples.

The second is the Astronomy Map, which was the surveying and
mapping of the oldest eastern stars existing in the world. To my
surprise, it indicated 1440 planets correctly in the Milky Way
Galaxy.
The third is the Imperial
The fourth is the National Map, which manifested main rivers, forests, mountains and the Great Wall across China. It was also one of three eldest national maps in China, the other two of which were exhibited in Xian.

The last three inscribed stone tablets were copied from Mr.
Huang Shang/黄棠 in the Southern Song dynasty. It was reported they
were designed for emperors as their textbooks.
