Cheng left us to study abroad on August 17th, 2018. It was
heavily raining when we drove Cheng to Shanghai Pudong
international airport. The rain seemed to stop Cheng from going
abroad, but I wish the flight would be on time rather than
delay.
As I wished, the flight started to check in on time even
though many other flights were delayed.
We had to say good-bye to Cheng before he processed through security check and immigration.
We all felt sad in our deep hearts but we smiled to appease
each other.
Cheng described his real feeling when he left
us. I knew he really grew up so that he was ready to persue his
dream and take his responsibility.
We had a pleasant short trip before he went abroad.
We ate, drank and talked a lot like good friends.
I couldn't stop missing Cheng when we came back home, so I
looked back at his moments on wechat. He said he wanted to drive,
drink wine, read books, study abroad, develop his career, and
become better of himself on his 18th birthday.
Cheng has been looking forward to his study abroad when he got
the offer from OXY.
He started to learn cooking in this summer holiday, I thought
he must plan to prepare his new life in America.
Cheng likes playing YoYo very much since he was a child.
Cheng got his drive license in China before he went
abroad.
Cheng knew the debate influenced him a lot, so he began to
help others change through debate and held his debate training
classes with his classmates in the summer holiday.
I taught Cheng many sports such as table tennis, badminton,
swimming, etc when he was young, so he still loves to play with me
now.
I founded the Tourism Advanced Toastmasters Club last year, so
he recently begins to enjoy delivering his public speakings with me
in the club.
We had a pleasant short trip before he went abroad.
We ate, drank and talked a lot like good friends.
He presented me a touching birthday gift. I am proud that he
has love, passion and social responsiblity.
Finally, Cheng arrived at his destination successfully after a
gruelling long journey. I know he is busy starting a new life,
which indeed belongs to his own.
I hope him to have a sweet dream in his first night when Cheng
set on his foot on America.
My dear Cheng, your mother and I welcome your back with your
fulfilled dream!
