Many people told me there were not so many attractions worth visiting in Madrid/马德里 even though it is the capital city of Spain. I have no high expectation for Madrid, but I find out it's not the fact after I stayed four days and three nights. Madrid has rich culture, long history, beautiful plazas, exquisite art, delicate food, wonderful pubs and so on, so tourists have a lot of interesting things to do in Madrid.

It was my first time to visit Madrid, but I didn't feel strange about it. I was so impressed by such many beautiful plazas around Madrid. What's more, the plazas were built in differert periods in memory of some famous people or historical affairs. There are so many history and stories about the plazas.

Plaza Oriental/东方广场 started to be built in 1808 and was completed in 1844, which is located between Royal Palace of Madrid and Royal Opera House. There are 20 kings' statues around the Plaza.

People can see the biggest Spain flag in the world in Colum Plaza/哥伦布广场. The historical stories are described on the stone carvings around the flag.

Alcala/阿尔卡拉门 was first built in 1788 in order to commemorate the most talented mayor called Carlos III/卡洛斯三世 of Madrid. 

Puerta del Sol/太阳门广场 was named after one of city gates originally in the 15th century. Carlos III statue stands at the center of the plaza and Madrid municipality in the front was the oldest building. 

The name of Mayor Plaza/市政广场 was original from the pink building-Casa de la Villa/市长办公室, which was built in 1692 and situated at the western of the plaza.

Marshall Plaza/马歇尔广场 is the biggest plaza and was first built in the 16th century for commodity trading.

Templo de Debod/德波神庙 was removed from India in 1968. A handsome boy was playing violin and I talked with him for a while. Actually, he couldn't play violin and he was just shooting his video for the episodes. 

The monument in the center of Plaza de Espana/西班牙广场 was built in 1916 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of Cervantes' death and the plaza is just located at the end of Gran Via. It is very interesting that the Spanish building behild fits the monument exactly.

Plaza de Cibeles/西贝莱斯广场 is one of the hallmarks of Madrid. A lot of gorgeous buildings are around the plaza.

Madrid has a lot of world-famous art museums and collected many wonderful paintings.

Museo del Prado/普拉多博物馆 is one the most well-known museums all over the world. Many people would like to stand in a long queue because the admission is free after 6 pm everyday. 

Centro de Arte Reina Sofia/索菲亚王后艺术中心 has almost 18 thousands collections of modern artwork. The most famous one is called Guernica/格尔尼卡 painted by Picasso in1937.

The Street Art/街头艺术 can be seen easily everywhere.

It would be very nice to listen to a concert in Royal Palace of Madrid/皇家歌剧院 if you have much free time.

Estacion de Atocha/阿托查火车站 was completed in 1851. It is so creative that it looks like a tropical garden inside and there are a lot of turtles in the pond.

Madrid is the third biggest city in Europe after Paris and London. Royal Palace of Madrid/马德里王宫 is the biggest palace in western Europe and it has 3418 guestrooms. The king comes to the office ocassionally and he must be in the palace if you see two flags rising on the roof.

Catedral de Santa Maria/阿穆德纳圣母主教堂 is just next to the Royal Palace of Madrid.

Parque del Retiro/丽池公园 is the most famous and the biggest park in Madrid. It seems like the lung for local people because it has two artificial lakes and 15 thousands trees in the park. 

Gran Via/格兰大道 is top one famous street because of lots of shops and cafes clustering. 

Spainsh food isn't so well-known as French's, but it has very good reputation. It's recommended to try one Spanish meal in the restaurant with traditional Spanish taste.

It was fantastic experience for me to have the dinner together with 30 other people from different countries. 

Mercado San Miguel/圣米格尔市场 is a very famous market just next to Plaza Mayor. All kinds of snacks from Spain are gathering and local people love to come here to have their meals in the market. 

Night life in madrid is so exctiting as other big cities in Europe. It has become one important part of local people's lifestyle. There are such many interesting bars around the city and I happened to attend a pub crawl tour in one night. 

A local pub lover guided us to experience four different pubs one by one. Each pub was crowded but the enviornment including music, light and drinks was so wondferful that people from all over the world were enjoying ecstatically together.

It was already 4 am in the early morning when we finished all the pubs, but the streets were still crowded.

A very popular jazz bar was so welcomed that people have to pay the ticket if they come in.

People can go everywhere by the subway convienently in Madrid and it is common to see music performance in the subways.
