Guilin is one of the most popular international tourist destinations in China. I happened to attend the opening ceremony of Guilin Mountain & Water International Tourism Festival on Oct. 19.

The grand opening ceremony themed as the Parading Art was hold on the center square in the downtown of Guilin, where it opened to the public.

It attracted a lot of groups from different kinds of fields to participate including schools, universities, sport clubs, attractions, especially estate and entertainment.

Each district government of the city also assigned one typical group to attend the Art Parading to show their beauties, charming features and uniqueness.

Guilin is the place where minority nationalities have been living together for many years, so the opening ceremony was the good stage to show their own lifestyles.

Many normal people could have the chance to join and enjoy the happiness brought by the festival. Unfortunately, most of other Chinese cities don't understand the real meaning which the tourism festival should pass on at all.

Some international teams from Zambia, Korea and other countries were warmly welcomed by audience. 

Modern and local traditional folk art mixed together, which seems as if they matched well.

Happiness ending

Crowded audience all had an enjoyable night at the opening ceremony.

In my opinion, a successful tourism festival needs more normal people, more tourism companies and media to participate automatically, what's more, much more entertainment spirit is also needed. All participants can have fun and memorable experience in the festival.
