The experts name the first house sedan hall when tourists enter inside the garden. The sedan was popular transportation tool in ancient time especially for the businessmen and senior officals. The sedan was laid down when they arrived at their homes.

The long bench was set for people who took the sedan in the hall. They had to sit on the bench to wait because the owners could go out at any time.

We have to confess China can't make the same high quality cars as Germany and America nowadays, but could they make such magnificent sedan several hundreds years ago? which proves what gorgeous and splendid history China once had!

The sedan is not only the transportation tool but also a kind of subtle handcraft work with wood carvings, which depicted meaningful stories.

It is reported the sedan can date back to over 4000 years ago. This is a mahogany sedan chair in the Master-of-Nets Garden. Can you imagine its net weight reaches 500 kilograms? So the sedan could only be lifted by eight strong men if someone sat inside.
