The opening ceremony of Dragon Boat Festival of Suzhou was hold outdoors in Panmen scenic spot, which is one of the most important historical hallmarks in Suzhou. Tourists can witness the unique land and water ancient city gates together in Panmen.  

Mr Wuzixu was the first designer and founder of 2500-year-old ancient Suzhou. As we know, the Dragon Boat festival has been formed progressively since Mr Quyuan, one of the most famous poets in old times, was died of humiliation in Warring States Period.

However, Suzhou holds the Dragon Boat Festival every year in order to commemorate Mr Wuzixu rather than Mr Quyuan, which is a little diferent from other areas in China.

The openin ceremony was short but touching. Each participant had deep impression on the traditional culture of the Dragon Boat Festival in Suzhou. 

The grandfather was playing with his grandchildren harmoniously. The children should wear shoes, hats or clothes with the image of tiger or Chinese character of king in order to protect themselves from five poisonous animals including scorpion, snake, centipede, spider, toad on May 5th of Chinese calendar. 

The couples were performing fantastic poetry elocnte about the history and culture of the Dragon Boat Festival.

The mother was excited when she saw his son who had never been back home for a long time.  

The grandmother was teaching her granddaugher how to make sticky rice dumpling.

In fact, Panmen is holding the Windbell Festival at the same time. Thousands of windbells make the musical sounds simultaneously in the breeze.

What a magnificent view when thousands of windmills are rotating together. 

Most of us are busy working in the office and don't have much time to experience Chinese tradional cultural and folk activities. We must be touched deep in our hearts when we have the chance to attend such good cultural activities.
