Today is the first day of the Horse New Year, which is also the first day of Spring Festival Holidays. The year of the horse has very special meaning for most Chinese people. There is so much good fortune ralated to horse, so Chinese people like the Horse New Year very much.

I hope everyone would enjoy this New Year. You couldn't image I spent three hours learning English, including watching BBC, practising speaking and listening to english online this morning and went to Hanshan Temple with my son this afternoon.

Suzhou local people would like to go to temples to light the incense on the first day of the New Year. Hanshan Temple is one of the most famous ones in China, so it was very crowded inside this afternoon.

Hanshan Temple is not only one of the most important sightseeings in Suzhou, but also has rich culture and long histroy. Zhangji, one of very famous poets in old times of China, wrote a very warm-welcoming poem til now over one thousand years ago.

Besides, Hanshan Temple has very interesting stories about Hanshan and Shi'de, two eminent monks in old times of China. However, it is a little pity that most of tourists ignore them. They often hurry up when they visit Hanshan Temple. Most of them spend less than 1 hour here and then leave.

What's more, Hanshan Temple has been holding the bell-striking festival on the eve of each new year for continuous 35 years.
