Suzhou is the capital of private gardens. There were over one thousand gardens in its history and 30 of them are presevered very well and still opened to the public now. Moreover, nine of them have been listed the world culture heritages by UNSCO. From this point, it is no doubt that Suzhou is named the capital of gardens. 

Humble Adminstrator's Garden was designed by Mr. Wen Zengming in ming dynasty. The first own of the garden was Mr. Wang Xiancheng, who was resigned from the national government in ming dynasty and came back home to Suzhou. But he was reluctant to resign from high postion and hope he could come out again in the future, and then he named the garden Humble Adminstrator's Garden, which means planting and farming were also the adminstration.
