Public transportation of the United States is very important for tourism development. If the destination is far away, flight is the best choice. Otherwise, Amtrak and long distance bus are enough when you travel around the United States. Amtrak is more expensive than long distance bus. However, Amtrak is so flexible that you can take it any time only if you buy one ticket. For instance, the price of Amtrak ticket from Washington D.C. to Philadelphia is 36 US dollars and you can take any train in one day, but the price of long distance bus is only 15 US dollars per person.

It is also very convenient even if you travel around the city. The convenient metro system connects with most of attractions in any city of the United States. So the metro is the first choice to take when you travel around the city. You don’t worry how you can get the place you want to go. There are some tips for saving money when you take metros. If you take metros more than four times in one day, you had better buy one day pass, which can be bought in Los Angeles and Washington D.C. . When you have to take metro and bus in one trip, the bus will be free in the two hours after you take the metro. For example, we went to Disneyland resort by Amtrak, and then took number 40b bus from train station. The bus drive reminded us we needn’t buy the bus tickets. Another example is that we didn’t buy M60 bus ticket when we left for airport in New York just because we took the metro.
