We invited many guests from home and abroad to attend the openning ceremony of China interntaional tourism festival, Suzhou. Though the event was end on April 21th, we have to receive many vip guests during these days.

I was assigned to receive Rafeeuddin Ahmed who is from Special Representative of the World Tourism Organization to the United Nations. Fortunately, I can not only practice English more, but also discuss some issues of Suzhou tourism development with him. After he visited the Humble Adminstration of Garden, Tiger Hill, Suzhou Museum, Tongli Town, Shantang Historical District and Pingjiang Historical District and so on, he gave some advice on Suzhou tourism development. Here are some of them as follows.

Firstly, branding is the most important to develop and promote Suzhou tourism industry. What the tourists can remind when Suzhou comes into their minds? Garden, Silk, Water Town, Cuisine or others? For him, the most impression of Suzhou is Cuisine and Garden. In addition, branding companies can aslo help promote Suzhou tourim industry development. For example, when foreigners buy Suzhou branding products in their country, they would think something about Suzhou, which will make a trip plan to Suzhou in the future.

Secondly, group tours are the most important for Suzhou tourism development at this stage because Suzhou is not yet well-known by many foreigners. We should invite more professional people to visit Suzhou. Afterwards, they will write down more articles about Suzhou in different medias in different time, which will attract more international tourists coming to Suzhou.

Thirdly, improve good quality of tourism service regularly. Limiting the number of tourists who would like to visit Gardens per day will make tourists feel better and know more about pure Chinese culture in gardens. What's more, introducting loudly with microphones will be not allowed in all gardens, which makes tourists understand what's the real meaning of gardens. It is better to have one day off once a week for every gardens because they also need good maintenance of facilities.
