Melaca is an ancient city of Malaysia, which was listed world heritage by UNESCO in 2008. Of course, it is very famous for its location, where many historical events happened. It is very important transportation from oceans between Asia and Europe. It was colonized by Spain, British and Japan from over 500 years ago until now. So we can see many different-style buildings. For example, the red building is the landmark of Melaca, which everyone would like to visit if he or she comes here.
We visited Melaca by self tour, not by group. It was very convenient for us to take bus to go there. It took us about two hours to go there and just charged 13 RM for one person. I would say it was very cheaper than the same distance in China. The service was so good that someone would take us to the bus only if you bought the tickets. What surprised me was that not the state-own transportation company, but many private transportation companies run these lines. Though the competition was very fierce, the market was very in order.
When we arrived at Melaca, it was almost at noon. We went to visit red building at first. In fact, the red building is just a church built by Spain over 500 years ago. And then we went to visit Sanbao hill, which has some connections with Chinese navigator, Mr. Zhenghe. We could see some introductions about this period’s history. We also visited A'Famosa, Bukit China, Gyro tower, some shoppings, etc. From Gyro tower, we could overlook Melaca very clearly.
