I attended the meeting in Lianyungang these days, which is about how the fiscal policy can make tourism industry develop very quickly hold by Jiangsu Finance Administration.

Tourism industry is one developing industry very quickly nowadays and it is very important to contribution on the development of regional economy and the social employment. For examples, when one comes to visit Suzhou, he or she will have to see, eat, buy and recreate something. Consequently, the relating industries will develop quickly, which is often ignored by most of people. The tourism industry is not only the new service industry, but also the low-carbon industry. In my point of view, the tourism industry will be more and more prosperous in the near future. So Chinese government carried out the policy to develop tourism industry the first of this year, the tourism industry is defined as the leading industry of national economy in the policy and all of provincial governments are busy doing researches to make detail policies to develop tourism industry.

I had put up my advice in the meeting as follows. Firstly, since the tourism is prosperous industry and is also a developing industry encouraged by the State, more fiscal policies should be made and carried into the tourism development just like as the beginning of foreign economy development.

Secondly, Jiangsu province should choose and list some international, national, Yangze river delta and provincial tourism brands, and then we do more effects to develop these tourism brands. For international tourism market, the market focus is very important aspect. It is impossible to choose one city as the tourism destination, if he or she doesn’t know it at all. So I think building tourism brands are more important for the tourism development than building products.

Thirdly, the new tourism sectors should be supported to develop, such as the unique sourvnior development, amusement, leisure, etc. When the tourism industry has been developing for many years, the demands of the travelers are changing from sightseeing to vacation. So the new tourism sectors about these new demands should be given more attention, especially the national vocational zone, ecology and countryside tourism, e-commerce and so on.

Fourthly, the tourism public service should be more focused on, because every traveler has more demands for the tourism public service, such as the easy transport system, available tourism information, comfortable environment and others. In fact, the local government would rather not put more money and energy into building the tourism public service. Therefore, it is not very convenient, if the travelers would like to visit only by themselves.

Fifthly, special tourism productions should also be more supported by all-level governments. There are different famous products in different cities, so different cities should have their own special tourism products. Take Suzhou for an example, the water tour, ancient city tour and local tourism brands are important aspects which should be taken more into consideration.

All in all, tourism is not mature, but developing industry, so different people will have different ideas about tourism development. There are also different views about which fiscal policy will promote tourism development quickly. I hope more fiscal policies will be carried out in the near future.
