一年前，叙利亚难民Yusra Mardini与她的妹妹为了生活游泳逃离了叙利亚的大马士革。而今天，这位18岁的少女作为奥林匹克难民小组成员，成为十位代表难民的运动员之一，将参加奥林匹克运动会的三个项目。

不久，船上的马达坏了。Mardini和她的妹妹是船上唯一两个会游泳的人，所以她们跳进水里，把船带到岸边。

35天的逃亡之旅后，姐妹们终于来到了德国。

现在，她们安全地和父母住在柏林。

抵达柏林不久，她们就被介绍给了当地游泳俱乐部的游泳教练。

Mardini最初的目标是到2020年东京奥运会，但她的教练说她的进展很好，可以加入国际奥林匹克委员会(IOC)难民团队，直接参加2016年8月的奥运会。

她被国际奥委会授予了奥林匹克团结奖学金，奖学金可以帮助运动员参与奥运会。
