最近偶然看了一本图画书, 名字叫做: What happens to our trash?是给孩子们看的.但我看到里面图文并茂的数字,文字和图画的时候,还是给现实中人类为环境带来的破坏的严重性所震撼了. 很多时候,简单的一系列数字,可以说明一切.

以下的数字,主要是以美国为背景的.但是,其他国家也是一样的.欧洲的大多数国家,和亚洲的日本,韩国,台湾,新加坡等地,相对在环保方面做的好些.

看完这些数字后,是否会对我们有些反思呢?

1.Every tons of paper that is recycled saves 17 trees.

2.America  is home to 5% of the world’s population, yet it consumes 1/3 of the earth’s   timber and paper.

3.New York  city alone throws out enough garbage each day to fill the Empire State Building.

4.An average kitchen-size bag of trash contains enough energy to light a 100 watt light bulb for more than 24 hours.

5.One third of the average dump is made up of packaging material.
