一、 教学内容:

    Story time

二、 教学目标:

1. 能听懂、会说、会读protect, Earth, save, waste, reuse, energy, most of, come from, coal, wood, cut down, too many, plastic, too much

2. 初步了解句型use...to...及情态动词should的用法。

3. 正确理解课文内容,准确复述段落概要。

4. 树立环保意识,践行环保理念。

三、教学重点:

2.正确理解课文内容,准确复述段落概要。

四、教学难点:

综合运用所学词句复述课文章节。

五、教学准备:

六、教学过程:

Step1 Warming up

1. Enjoy a story ‘A mother and her son’

  Teach: coal, oil, wood.

2. What do you think of the mother and the son?

  T: The son wants..., and the mother gives...So the mother is sad at last. Who is the             son? Who is the mother?(揭示课题)

Step2 Presentation and practice

1. Save water

(1)T: Look! This is our big home---the Earth. Look at the blue part.What is it? Most of the Earth is covered by water. What do we use water to do

     S: We use water to...

     T: We can use water to do many things. But in many places, there’s not much water.

(2) What should we do?

     S: We should save water. (Teach: save, save water)

(3) How to save water?

     We should not waste water. We should reuse water. (Teach: should not = shouldn’t, waste, reuse)

 (4) Retell the first part of the story according to the key words on the blackboard.

2. Watch and answer

  T: Let’s watch the cartoon. Please find out ‘ how to protect the Earth’.

  S: Save water. Save energy, Save trees. Don’t use too much plastic.

3. Save energy

 (1) T: Please pay attention to the word ‘energy’. (Teach: energy)

      Where does energy come from? Look! Most of our energy comes from coal and oil. (Read most of, come from)

 (2) What energy do we use in our daily life? (water energy, wind energy)

 (3) T: What do we use energy to do?

S: We use energy to drive cars. Cars use a lot of energy.

(4) T: There’s not much coal or oil on Earth. What should we do?

     S: We should save energy.

(5) T: What shouldn’t we do?

     We shouldn’t drive so much.

 (4) Retell the second part of the story according to the key words on the blackboard.

4. Save trees and Don’t use too much plastic.

 (1) 自主学习,寻疑解惑

   T: Read the last two parts of the story, then find out the words or phrases you don’t understand.( cut down, plastic...)

(2)小组合作,完成任务

   TPractice in four. Choose one part to study and finish the tasks.

任务一:TalkKey words:

                           comes from

                           use to

                           should

                           should not

任务二:Write

We use plastic to make_____and_____,

but ___ ____plastic is ____for the Earth.

We should use_____bags and____bottles.

We should not use too much plastic.

5. Read and retell the story according to the key words on the blackboard.

Step3 Production

T: Boys and girls, let’s return to the story ‘ A mother and her son’. Look! The mother was sad. So the son wanted to come back. Do you have any suggestions to make the mother happy? To protect the Earth, we shouldn’t... We should....

T: The mother smiles again. Now our story has a happy ending. Let’s start from now. Start from myself to protect the Earth.

Step4 Homework

1. Read the story and try to retell it.

2. Finish the exercise on page70.
