common 普通的 寻常的
---可以这样理解：哪里都可以看到的 满大街都是的
eg: it's a common bag,and you can find it in every store
这包很普通 哪个商店都有卖的

usual 通常的,平常的;惯常的
----可以这样理解：昨天是这样 前天是这样 大前天也是这样
这时就用usual 屡见不鲜的 。用usual修饰的东西可以
是很奇怪的或不可理解的 但是由于见得多了 所以见怪不怪
eg: it's usual for us to see him crying naked.
对我们来说，他光着屁股大哭是很平常的事

ordinary: 通常的,平常的
----可以这样理解：东西分3种，好的 一般的 差的 而ordinary
就是其中的那个“一般的” ，它可能不常见 它可能不寻常
但它是一般的 不是好的 不是坏的 只是大路货
eg:The novel describes the way of life of the ordinary
people there.
这部小说描写那里的普通人的生活方式

normal : 正常的,正规的,标准的
----可以这样理解：这个就很好区分拉 正常的状态 标准的 常态
(人的精神,身体)正常发育的
eg:The doctor said the child's temperature was normal.
医生说孩子体温正常

common，usual和ordinary的区别
 
（1）common意为“普通的”，“平常的”，指常见的，常常发生的，不足为奇的。如：
The birds are very common here. 这些鸟在这儿很常见。
The common man in every country is anxious for world peace.
每个国家的老百姓都渴望世界和平。
Snow is common in cold countries. 在寒冷的国家雪是常见的。
（2）usual意为“通常的”，“习惯性的”，可用于一切频繁发生的事情。如：
Tea is considered to be the usual drink in Britain. 在英国，茶被视为一种习惯性的饮料。
He arrived later than usual. 他到得比平常晚一些。
Are you coming home at the usual time? 你准备按往常的时间回家吗？
Yes, I shall leave the office at the same time as usual.
是的，我将和平常一样准时离开办公室。
My usual chair had been moved from its usual place. 我平常用的椅子已从老地方移开了。
（3）ordinary意为“通常的”，“普通的”，有“日常的”，“随时都可以碰到的”含意，与common意思相近。如：
An ordinary workday is eight hours. 一个工作日通常是八个小时。
It was a very ordinary day today. 今天是很平常的一天。
He is a little man with ordinary looking. 他是个个子矮小，相貌普通的人。
Tom Sawyer was an ordinary American boy who kept getting into trouble.

Normal,regular,common,usual,ordinary的区别

(1) regular 规则的；有规律的；经常的
Our heart is beating regularly.我们的心脏是有规律地跳动。
Mr Goodman is a regular customer of ours．古得曼先生是我们的常客。
(2) common普通的；常见的；共有的；共同的【短语】common sense常识
It is common sense to carry an umbrella in case of rain．带上雨伞以防有雨，这是一个常识。
Tom is a common name in Britain. 一个常见的名字。
We have a common interest.我们有着共同爱好。
They have much in common with each other.他们有很多相同之处。
(3) usual 惯常的；惯例的【短语】as usual与平常一样
It's usual for him to go to the office on foot.对他来说，走路上班是经常的事。
He went to school on foot as usual.
(4) ordinary 平凡的；普通的 
We are ordinary people. 我们都是凡人。
He is an ordinary worker.他是个普通的工人。

(5)normal  adj. 正常的；正规的；标准的
The normal temperature of the human body 人们的正常温度
normal behaviour (thinking/ views) 正常的行为（思想/观点）
