The seventh lunar month is vacation time in hell. The souls are given permission to leave hell. They can take a break from paying their dues in hell and return to earth, to enjoy the offerings made for them from us .   

This night my fellows and me have the worship of the sea-wandering souls in riverside.   

What is the wandering souls?  

The wandering souls are those without the living to remember them without anyone to pay respects to them . Some could have died tragically or they were murdered. Some were killed in an accident or during previous wars.  

If the dead don’t have any family to pray or make offerings for them they woold not be able to reincarnate. But through Master Feng Shui or Taoist Mission , they could relieve the pain and reincarnate as soon as possible.  

We make offerings for them, making penance on their behalf.
