From the Feng Shui perspective, will Macau's birth rate decrease in the following few years? Will the population of Habitantes da Ascendencia Portuguesa increase? What are the reasons?

Macau is ethnically and culturally diverse, with Chinese ethnicity accounting for more than 97% of the population. The rest are Macaense, Filipinos, Nepalese, and some Central and South Asians. After the Transfer of Sovereignty over Macau, the number of babies born in Macao has dropped significantly. This is not because of any birth control policy.

Instead, I will analyze from the Feng Shui perspective. The five elements of Feng Shui are Metal; Wood; Water; Fire, and Earth, which interact with each other. The elements are assigned to the life chart of the human or non-human entity at birth time. There are 4 Pillars of Destiny: Year, Month, Day, and Time. Each pillar is separated into two parts, the Heavenly Stem and the Earthly Branch. Overall, these are the eight characters of Feng Shui elements in one's life.

The time of the Transfer of Sovereignty is regarded as the birth time of the Macau SAR, which happened at 0 o'clock on December 20, 1999. The Feng Shui chart at this moment are己卯 Jimao (Year pillar)、丙子Bingzi (Month Pillar)、丙午Bingwu (Day Pillar)、and戊子Wuzi (Time Pillar). The stem of the third pillar  (the Day pillar) represents the self. It is the origin of the chart study, and we study its relationships with the other seven elements to read one's destiny. "丙午 is a fire element, so that we can see the Macau SAR as Fire. Since the Fire burns into ashes and then deposits to the Earth, we can interpret Earth as the baby of Fire, so the Earth is the child star of the Macau SAR. "Wood" restrains "Earth, "and "Earth" is the Child Star of Macau.

The Five Elements can generate each other as a chain, whereas they also restrain each other as another chain. We have found that the Macau SAR belongs to the "Fire" element, which needs "Wood" to burn. The "Wood" burns the "Fire," and then the "Fire" generates "Earth." However, the "Wood" restricts the "Earth." To Macau SAR, "Earth" is the child star. If the "Wood" is too strong, the child (Earth) gets hurt.

The upside-down of life is the interaction of the ten-year luck cycle and the birth chart. From 2005 to 2014, the Luck Cycle is "丁丑," the Fire on the stem and the Earth at the Branch. The Fire on the top generates the Earth, the children's star for Macau. The phenomenon of Fire growing Earth resonates with the significant increase in the birth number from 3671 to 7360 during these ten years.

From 2015 to 2024, Macau SAR entered the luck cycle of "戊寅", which is the Earth as the Stem and Wood as the Branch. The Wood restrains the Earth. Again, Earth represents children for Macau SAR. We can see that the fertility rate has decreased. According to the statistics of Direcção dos Serviços de Estatística e Censos de Macau, the number of the newborn was 7055 in 2015, then 7146 in 2016, followed by 6529 in 2017, dropping further to 5026 in 2021. The birth rate plummeted over the last eight years because the wood power restrains the Earth. There is a jargon called: 枭神夺食", which means the Owl is harming the child.

From 2025, there will be a significant change in the celestial cycle. This is called "The Feng Shui in Ninth Luck", which brings strong "Fire" element to the whole world, generating "Earth". The number of births in Macao will increase two years after. Because the power of the child star "Earth" is empowered by the Fire brought by the new Ninth Luck Celestrial cycle. The author estimates that the population of Macau will reach 745,000 from 2025 to 2030, and the five-year birth rate will increase by 1.24%.

Among the residents of Macau, there is an exceptional group, namely Habitantes da Ascendencia Portuguesa. Habitantes da Ascendencia Portuguesa is the name given by the locals of Macau to the mixed-race children born and living there with Portuguese origin. Many of them also have Chinese ancestry. "Filhos da Terra" refers to being born and raised in Macau, using Portuguese as one's first language, and taking Portuguese as their cultural identity. But one thing to note is if a Portuguese came to settle in Macau, we do not call it "Habitantes da Ascendencia Portuguesa". Instead, only people with at least one side of their parents are Portuguese can be called "Habitantes da Ascendencia Portuguesa". Portuguesa".

There are currently about 42,000 Habitantes da Ascendencia Portuguesa in Macau. Although they are a racial minority accounting for only about 2% of the whole population of Macau, they form a significant group of the society. In the past 20 years, the average number of Habitantes da Ascendencia Portuguesa is about 45,000. The main reason for the decrease is that some Habitantes da Ascendencia Portuguesa temporarily returned to Portugal with their parents due to the pandemic.

Since 2025, the number of Habitantes da Ascendencia Portuguesa will have a breakthrough. Mickey Hung infers that the population of Habitantes da Ascendencia Portuguesa will reach 50,000.
