Nowadays, with the advent of the Internet age, there have been some revolutionary changes taken place in the methods of study. It is a trend in the development of education that improving teaching conditions and
environments, learning methods and learning capacities by distance education using the multimedia and network technology. However, whether distance education will eventually replace the traditional education?

Some people harbor the idea that distance education will be replaced traditional education. First of all, distance education can improve the opportunities and penetration accepting education for students. Distance
education can help more people, different levels of people to continue their study. Secondly, distance education has excellent educational resources.Distance education is a helpful reference and supplement to the schools in the remote and backward areas and lacking enough or excellent teachers. What’s more,distance education has more flexible teaching forms. No the limitation of time,students can choose the time of study randomly, and listen repeatedly where the focus and difficulties during the study so as to achieve the purpose of mastering knowledge.

Others hold that traditional education has irreplaceable advantages. For one thing, traditional education has bettercommunication and interaction between teachers and students. Students can seek the help of the teachers when they encounter to the problems and difficulties in the learning. For another, school education is manifold education, including the exchange of feelings between teachers and students, the harmony relationship among students and good studying environments, etc. Distance education will not replace traditional education.

From my own perspectives, the effect is not obvious through
one method of the traditional education or distance education, only combining traditionaleducation and distance education, can we have obvious effect in the study. In the traditional education, teachers can communicate and interact with the students face to face, connecting to distance education can enable students to make full use of leisure and free time to master and organize the difficult and weak parts in the study. Effect of learning will be much better than simply using a teaching method of them. Traditional education and distance education are two complementary and indispensable elements, and can not substitute each other. Only by this way can enable students to learn better, grow better and our society develop rapid.
