美国暑期带薪实践项目之三 ——

“在梦里说英语”

　　（编者按）由华申留学与星瞻集团合作组织的美国暑期带薪实践项目（WAT USA）已经正式拉开了帷幕，优秀的学生们在通过国内的重重考验后已开始陆续出发到达美国，在他们各自的岗位上开始了丰富而充实的工作与生活。他们分别在美国的主题公园、餐厅、国家公园、旅馆、游乐场、游轮与餐车等旅游景点（500多个可工作点）展开了他们精彩的夏日实践。有不少学生已经在短短几天的工作中体现出了出色的能力，并与来自世界各国的同事及当地员工成为了好朋友。

　　当然大家也都在各个方面遇到了各种挫折与挑战，这些困难包括生活上设施上的、工作环境中的、与人的沟通交流上的、以及文化差异所造成的。全职工作与在校读书是大不相同的，更何况是在异国他乡。但他们克服困难、接受挑战、解决问题的勇气确实让人欣慰，而这也是这个项目的初衷之一——鼓励学生直面挫折、与雇主商量、协调问题、与他人磨合来适应社会。他们描写的克服挫折的心路历程多次感动着我们。作为主办方之一，在见证了他们在与社会的接触中学会了面对生活压力、学会了忍让、学会了为自己争取权益、学会了生存，我们可以感受到他们的处事能力正在迅速提高，在短短几周间变得更成熟了。留学之路本来就是非常艰苦的，所以才是非常锻炼人的，在这条道路上会碰到各种各样意想不到的困难。希望有志于参加这个项目以及踏上长期留学之路的同学做好这个思想准备。我们乐于见证他们与更多留学学子的成长、发光。

My life in US：

　　Because I can’t use my own computer here, so I’m sorry I can’t write in Chinese. I am writing this short diary in order to let friends know what my current condition is.

　　Though sometimes I have nothing special to share with others, I will try to find out something interesting in the following days. Anyway, I am learning several different languages and more slang when I am talking with others.

　　There are no Chinese people here except me. In these days, I speak too much English. I suppose I am speaking English even in my dream. So Xu Ke come here as soon as possible. The people here are so friendly and kind-hearted. We all get on well with each other in the evening after finishing work. We also get together for talking after work. Among my roommates, one is from Jamaica, and one is from Ukraine, another one I haven’t known now.

　　Most people come from different places and so few Asian here.

　　The Mackinac Island is so beautiful that I can’t describe with few words. Everybody is friendly and it is safe here. Nobody lock the bikes, and the bikes are just being put outside. No one steal them.
