Lesson Thirty-seven  Manna and Quail

¹¹ The LORD said to Moses, ¹² "I have heard the grumbling of the Israelites. Tell them, 'At twilight you will eat meat, and in the morning you will be filled with bread. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God.' " ¹³ That evening quail came and covered the camp, and in the morning there was a layer of dew around the camp. ¹⁴ When the dew was gone, thin flakes like frost on the ground appeared on the desert floor. ¹⁵ When the Israelites saw it, they said to each other, "What is it?" For they did not know what it was. Moses said to them, "It is the bread the LORD has given you to eat.

³¹ The people of Israel called the bread manna. It was white like coriander seed and tasted like wafers made with honey.

a layer 一层 A layer of fog hovers over the valley. 一层薄雾环绕山谷。

For they did not know what it was.  for 因为，what it was是know的从句。

It is the bread the LORD has given you to eat.  bread 后面省略了一个that。

The people of Israel called the bread manna. manna 是bread的表语。

taste 味道，吃起来有什么样的味道，wafer 薄饼，honey 蜜，

以色列人离开埃及时向埃及人索取了不少银器金器，但是他们却没有预备食物（12：35-39），只是在匆忙中，带了一点点无酵饼。可见他们并不知道以后旅途的艰辛。所以在16章3节，我们看到以色列人开始抱怨，没有饭吃，宁愿回埃及作奴隶。中国教会今天急需要祷告，这个国家道德堕落得无以复加，求神带领我们出精神的奴役之地，而我们要做好长期在旷野受苦的准备，如果我们的眼睛钉在银器金器之上，我们的教会也不会堕落到宁愿作法老的奴隶的地步。如果我们专心仰望神，那么我们必会有源源不断的吗哪。

第三十七课  吗哪与鹌鹑

耶和华晓谕摩西说、我已经听见以色列人的怨言．你告诉他们说、到黄昏的时候、你们要吃肉、早晨必有食物得饱、你们就知道我是耶和华你们的　神。到了晚上、有鹌鹑飞来、遮满了营．早晨在营四围的地上有露水、露水上升之后、不料、野地面上有如白霜的小圆物。以色列人看见、不知道是甚么、就彼此对问说、这是甚么呢．摩西对他们说、这就是耶和华给你们吃的食物。出埃及记16:11-15

这食物、以色列家叫吗哪．样子像芫荽子、颜色是白的、滋味如同搀蜜的薄饼。16:31
