    四角菱，菱科一年生浮水水生草本植物，菱的叶片镶嵌排列整齐，尤如美丽的装饰纹样，成片密集浮于水中，形成别致而美丽的景观。花单生于叶腋，白色，隐约点缀在绿叶之间。果三角形，近锚状，具4刺角，肩角较腰角为长，两肩角稍斜上或平伸，两腰角斜向下伸，菱肉很甜，称得上真正的“水果”。
