大家好！我是来自人力资源部的Serena Gao, 于2009年加入上海希尔顿酒店，现任培训部副经理一职。

我最难忘的一次旅行是今年九月的马尔代夫蜜月之旅，经由新加坡转机到马累后，我和先生在旅馆做了短暂停留，次日清晨就乘水飞机抵达了此次行程的目的地伊露岛。伊露岛是一个度假圣地，岛上提供各种娱乐和住宿设施，是许多新婚夫妇的首选蜜月地。在岛上的五天里，我们尝试了多项水上活动。我先生最喜欢浮潜，岛上提供一对一的潜水课程，经过一小时的培训后，合格者就可潜水至三十米的深度，与大海来个亲密接触！而我最喜欢的则是落日垂钓，不同于一般垂钓，这里的垂钓用生鱼肉作饵，用鱼线钓鱼，所捕获的鱼还可带回酒店加工食用。配合落日美景，十分遐逸。

在这五天的行程里，我体验了两种特色房型：水屋和沙屋。水屋是建在近海上的木屋，房间的地板上有一块玻璃板，透过玻璃板可看到脚下的海，也可直接由水屋的阳台入海。另一种是沙屋，他是建在沙上的小别墅，带有自己的花园和露天淋雨，住起来别有一番情趣。特别是夜幕降临，酒店处处点满的蜡烛灯，让人仿佛置身星海之中。

最后与想去马尔代夫游玩的朋友分享一些我的旅行心得：

1> 岛上提供的中餐很有限，不习惯西餐的朋友可自行携带一些食物。

2> 水飞机是当地唯一的交通工具，怕噪音的朋友可提前准备防噪音耳塞。

3> 当地使用美金结算。

4> 喜欢拍照的朋友可携带水下相机，会有许多机会入海拍摄各种各样的鱼。

A Vacation Story: My Honeymoon in the Maldives!

Hi everyone! My name is Serena Gao and I am an assistant training manager in the human resources department. I joined Hilton Shanghai in 2009.

My most memorable trip is my honeymoon in the Maldives last September. After flying from Singapore to Male and staying overnight in Male, we took a seaplane to Irufushi the next morning. Irufushi is an island a part of the Maldives and a popular honeymoon destination for newlyweds! We tried many aquatic activities during our five-day stay on the island. My husband’s favorite activity is snorkeling. We were able to take a one-on-one snorkeling training course in order to explore the amazing ocean. My favorite activity was sunset fishing. Unlike normal fishing, you use live fish as bait and fish with strings. You can take the fish you catch back to the hotel and the chef will cook it to your liking. Fishing under the sunset, what an experience!

During this five-day trip, we stayed in two different types of rooms: a water house and a sand house. The water house is a wooden house built on top of the water. Glass is used for the flooring, giving you a great view of the water below you. You also have a private entrance way to the sea from the balcony. The sand house is a villa on the beach with your own private outdoor area and an open shower. At night, lit candles are everywhere in the hotel, giving the hotel an ethereal feeling!

Here are some useful tips for those who want to visit Maldives:

1>   Irufushi doesn’t really have any Chinese food. If you aren’t used to western food, bring some Chinese food with you.

2>   It can get a little loud on the seaplane (the only method of transportation to the island) so earplugs are recommended if you are sensitive to loud noises.

3>   The US dollar is the only type of currency used on the island.

4>   For all the amateur photographers out there, bring your underwater cameras to snap some great photos of the beautiful fish and the deep blue sea!
