吴芳吉（1896—1932），字碧柳，自号白屋吴生，世称白屋诗人。重庆江津人。中国现代著名诗人，堪称诗词改革的先驱。吴芳吉先后受聘于西北大学、东北大学、成都大学、四川大学等名校任教。1929年，参与创办重庆大学，任文科主任。九·一八事变”后，他创作的抗日诗作《巴人歌》广为传诵。其才华灿烂夺目，与苏曼殊的俊逸前后辉映。不幸英年早逝，1932年辞世时，年仅36岁。著有诗集《《白屋吴生诗稿》等多部。
