陶器村庄 Gaoui 位于恩贾梅纳10公里远的近郊，开车来这里非常方便。

进入村子，带有地域特色的陶器随处可见，墙上的彩绘显示出当地居民的艺术才能，能看出，这里是贫穷的，但是，艺术之门对贫穷的人同样是打开的，他们尽量把自己的家装扮的更美丽。一个很简陋的房门，挂上一个花布门帘，配上墙面的绘画，构成了另一幅画面。

 Gaoui 村是继承萨奥（SAO）人的制陶、粘土技术最典型的村庄。

萨奥（SAO）人是乍得湖沿岸原住民的后代，由于乍得湖流域自然条件的恶化，原住民逐渐放弃了世代居住乍得湖内分散而孤立的沙丘，开始在岸边聚居生活，安营扎寨以抵御自然灾害。萨奥人很早就掌握了制陶、粘土、纺织等技术，创造了灿烂的“萨奥文化”，被后世称为乍得文化的摇篮。乍得人常自豪地自称“萨奥子孙”。

村里有一个小小的博物馆，象一座土碉楼，里面收藏一些有关萨奥的珍贵影像资料和一些典型的陶器，墙上的插图体现了萨奥人的想象力。

2002年，由乍得导游拍摄的电影“ Abouna”（爸爸出走了）在Gaoui村拍摄，并参加了次年奥斯卡外语片的角逐。

在乍得拍摄时受到严格控制的，尤其是在首都恩贾梅纳，在Gaoui 的博物馆，我们缴费后，经过许可才得以拍到这些图片。
