市场位于哈尔格萨机场方向的城市边缘，大约有300多米的方形的土广场，没有围墙，由摊位等自然形成。每天的早上7点到中午1点，这里尘土飞扬，热闹非凡。

比起开罗的骆驼市场，这个市场比较小，但生气盎然，极具地域特色。

从市中心方向过来进入市场，正中间是一个大棚，供人乘凉和吃饭，骆驼市场和草料行位于右侧，羊市场则占据了中间和左侧的大部分。骆驼市场里的经营者多是男人，羊市场的经营者则多是女人，她们大多被阿拉伯黑袍包裹着。

灰尘和嘈杂声充斥着市场，有叫卖声、谈价声、呵斥骆驼和羊群的声音不绝于耳。有个男人的羊群跑散了，追羊，抓羊闹出很大的动静，让市场内顿时掀起更大的烟尘。

骆驼多数买去是屠宰食用的，也有少部分是用来做驮运牲口，每头骆驼价格大约在600美金左右。

羊大体分两种，一是带角的山羊，另一种是当地的黑头绵羊，每只羊的价格约400人民币左右。

小餐厅，食品店，卖鲜奶的和草料行，分散在市场的个个角落，看到那些食品我没有品尝的欲望，听当地的中国人说，当地的食品很难吃。

索马里兰的多数农民收入主要靠畜牧业维持。

在索马里兰，邀请你为他拍照和拒绝拍照的情况都会遇到，多数人是拒绝的，尤其是女性。在骆驼市场里拍照还是比较自由的，人们各自忙自己的生意，其他就顾不上了。
