图尔达盐矿坐落于罗马尼亚北部克鲁日县的图尔达市郊，这里曾经是一个巨大的盐矿，据记载从11世纪初期这里就开始出产食用盐了，直到1932年才关闭。二战期间，这里成为了一个储备战略物资的仓库。

废弃的盐矿坑在地下120米的深处，人们发现里面常年保持在摄氏10-12度，湿度保持在75-80%，呼吸含盐分的湿润空气有益肺部健康，于是政府投入资金把这个废弃的盐矿进行改建，自1992年开向公众开放后，之后又陆续完善内部设施，使的图尔达盐矿成了一个集博物馆、休闲娱乐、疗养站和旅游的场所，2010年以全新的面貌对外开放。

盐矿有两个大门，一个位于市区边上，这是原来采矿时的主矿道入口，另一个在在市郊外5公里的地方，这是新建的入口，主要便于驾车前来的游客。两个出口的距离有1公里远。

买票进入盐矿的大门，主矿道是平直的，这里曾经是向外运送盐的坑道。

再往前走100多米，右侧是一个展厅，两边橱窗里展示着盐开采盐矿的工具，还有一块留给神的地方。

沿楼梯走下来，展现在眼前的是一个深深的巨大的矿坑，里面灯火通明，最醒目的是远处的摩天轮，左面向下俯视，是一个小湖，里面还有10多个小游艇。

电梯直通到下面的游乐场，这里是原来矿坑的底部。现在这里建成了一个游乐场，有乒乓球、篮球和高尔夫等各种球类的运动场，还有那高达的摩天轮，也可以租船在地下湖里右上一圈。商店是必不可少的，就在电梯旁不远处。
