校园英语学生对话精选（N-T）

英语单词永远是英语学习的最重要的组成部分。留学英美国家，首先最需要掌握的，当然是校园英语。下面的单词（包括俚语）和例句，是我从Wood Ward English里搜寻到的。我选取了大部分词句，加了注释和翻译。托福的听力考试中，包括大量的校园对话。相信准备托福的考生，若熟背这些例句，听力分数一定会有显著提高。

 

Notes (noun): 笔记
- I couldn’t go to the class so I borrowed my classmate’s notes.

我没能去上课，所以向同学借了笔记。

 

On reserve (prep. phrase): （在图书馆）保留
- Dr. Woodward always puts the books on reserve for his students.

伍德沃博士总是为他的学生在图书馆保留图书。

 

Open-book test (noun): 开卷考

- I’m glad it’s an open-book test since I can’t remember much of what has been taught this term.

很高兴这是开卷考，因为我记不住多少这个学期所教的东西。

 

Paper (noun): 研究报告
- I’m having difficulty writing this paper about the love life of the Siberian Hedgehog.

我写关于西伯利亚刺猬爱情生活的研究报告遇到了困难。

 

Pass (an exam) with flying colors (verb): 出色地通过。colors，色彩。flying colors，飘扬的五彩旗，表示胜利。with flying colors，出色地。
- I passed the test with flying colors.

我出色地通过了这门考试。

 

Pop quiz (noun): 突击测验
- Okay students, clear your desks. Yes, we’re going to have a pop quiz.

同学们，桌上东西清掉。对，我们要做一个突击测验。

 

Presentation (noun): （课堂）报告、演示
- I will give a presentation in my sociology class next week.

下周社会学课堂上，我将做个报告。

 

Project (noun): （应用学到的知识所做的）项目。是一种课外作业。

- The project the professor gave us was to create an application that would translate spoken English into another language.

教授给我们的项目是创立一个应用程序来将口头英语转换成另外一种语言。

 

Quiz (noun): 小测验
- I finished the quiz in less than 10 minutes。

我不到十分钟就做完了小测验。

 

Report (noun): （书面的或口头的）报告
- We each had to write a report on the experiment we had been working on the last two weeks.

有关上两个星期我们做的实验，我们每个人都得写报告。

 

Research (noun): 调查或研究
- Dr. Fox gave a lecture on his research about the decline of memory due to technology.

福克斯博士讲授的主题是他关于技术导致记忆力下降的研究。

 

Review session (noun): （考试前的）复习课
- I’m glad we have a review session tomorrow with the professor.

我很高兴明天我们有跟教授一起的复习课。

 

Schedule (noun): 课程表
- According to my schedule, it looks I’ll have Friday afternoons free this term.

根据我的课程表，看来，我这学期周五下午都没课。

 

Sign up (verb): 登记（参加），注册
- Not many students signed up for the seminar so it was cancelled.

没有什么学生登记参加这个讲座，所以它被取消了。

 

Skip class (verb): 逃课
- I don’t think you should skip any more classes.

我觉得你再也不能逃课了。

 

Spring break (noun): 春假。通常一个星期。
- I can’t wait for spring break. We’re going to spend it in Mexico.

我急切盼望春假。我们打算去墨西哥度春假。

 

Student loan (noun): 学生贷款（用以支付学费等）
- I’m finding it difficult to pay back my student loan.

我发现很难偿还我的学生贷款。

 

Studies (noun): 调查研究
- Recent studies have shown that it is best to rest the night before an exam than spend it trying to do a last minute cramming session.

近期的调研已显示，考试前的夜晚最好是休息，而不是试图临时抱佛脚搞突击。

 

Term (noun): 学期
- This term looks to be a good one for me. I have all of my favorite professors in the classes.

这个学期在我看来很不错。我的课全都是我最喜爱的教授。

 

Test (noun): 测验

- Don’t worry. I know you will do well in the test tomorrow.

别担心。我知道明天的测验你能应付自如。

 

Turn in (verb): 交作业
- I turned in my assignment a day before it was due.

到期前的一天，我就交了我的作业。

 

Tutor (noun): 私人老师，家教
- I have a tutor helping me improve my essay writing skills.

我有关私人老师帮我提高作文写作技巧。
