sculptor,雕塑家。sculpt,雕刻,造型。s=寺。cul=文化。pt= 普通。寺庙文化,普通雕塑。后缀or表示人。

27. In the eastern part of New Jersey lies the city of Elizabeth, a major shipping and manufacturing center.
伊丽莎白市位于新泽西州的东部,是个主要的运送业和制造业中心。

lie,躺,平放,保持,位于。过去式是lay,过去分词是lain。lay,本身也是个单词,也有放置、躺下的意思。还有个常用的意思:下(蛋)。区别:lie是不及物动词,lay是及物动词。说谎的 lie,是个同形异义词。下面一句可帮助记忆这两个词的区别:You'll lay an egg if you don't lie down

Infirmary,医务室,医院。In,可作表示相反的前缀。firm,结识。不结实,上医院。 ary可作名词后缀,可表示场所,如:library。
