需要特别强调的是，该著作的讨论对于视觉设计（或视觉符号运用方面的相关设计）而言十分重要，主要原因在于，我们目前国内众多的设计院校或相关专业过分地强调了创意因素，或更加直接地说，设计方面的人员过分重视视觉符号个体的创造性运用，对于视觉符号组成的结构体十分缺乏理解，缺乏从传播效果的角度来对其加以关注，缺乏社会性的视角。对于纯粹的艺术创作而言，这种行为方式没有问题；对于自身就带有传播目的的设计而言，似乎偏颇。
是为从视觉传播角度出发的判断。妄想——整合视觉传播的分析与视觉设计的关注。
