近期遇到几个想申请美国医学院的同学咨询尚友教育王玥老师有关申请的问题。他们之中的许多或因为国内专业质量，或因为学制问题，或因为希冀追求更好的职业发展环境萌发了前往美国医学院深造的想法。但是你或许发现了这样的问题，当你查询百度，或者咨询中介机构的时候，你得到最多的回答是，“你申请不了医学院。”然而，实际情况是这样的吗？
      在普渡大学，学校对国际学生申请医学院的状况做了这样的描述。“对于非美国永久居住者，也就是持有绿卡者来说，想要进入美国的医学院相当困难。”到底是什么原因导致难申请呢？实际上，他们认为，“国际学生没有足够的资金完成医学院的学习。”要知道，在美国，学生要想完成医学院的学习，大部分本土学生都需要靠scholarship和政府贷款完成。一般美国的医学院每年会产生$40000左右的学费支出，另外教材还要耗费大约$2000每年，所以4年医学院的学习，对于普通家庭来说，从经济角度而言，是非常重的负担。上世纪八九十年代，美国许多医学院对国际学生开放，但是不少申请者因为资金问题中途辍学，这对学校而言，是非常大的损失，所以现今开放的学校少是有原因的。但是你或许还在纠结那个问题，老师，我到底能不能申请？尚友教育王玥老师的回答是，可以。有不少学校还是开放申请名额给国际学生的。那么针对开放名额给国际学生的学校，想申请的人，如此巨大的一笔支出，是不是有机会可以得到奖学金呢？答案是，很难。
  一般联邦政府奖学金和贷款只针对美国公民，永久居民开放。国际学生必须在申请的时候出示全额资金证明的。有的学校甚至在决定是否录取你之前，要求你把涵盖四年全部costs的这部分资金做第三方托管，以便你就读中间资金链断掉。确实也有学校给条件合格的国际学生提供一些privately-funded，你也可以申请一些private loan。如果真的申请的话，申请人一般情况需要找一个美国公民和你联合签署贷款申请书。不难看出，这是一种降低违约风险的手段。
  具体到录取方面，不同学校对国际学生在政策上各有不同。 有些学校提及的国际学生概念只指加拿大国籍学生。而大部分开放名额的学校希望你入读的时候能够提供4-20万美金的资金证明。根据美国医学院协会AAMC发布的数据，2003年，有16538名国际学生申请美国医学院，559人被录取，最终入读的只有82人。2012年的时候，1378名国际学生申请人，183人被录取。为了方便大家了解目前美国医学院对国际学生的申请资格要求，在此列举出不接收国际学生和接收国际学生的名单。
