remain是保持，保留的意思。 它多接状态,不接时间间隔。
This room remains cool all summer.
这个房间整个夏天保持凉爽(的状态)。


stay有保持,停留的意思。与remain同义,也是接状态。

keep:保持，持续.  后也接状态,不接时间。如: keep fit 保持健康

continue，主动，被动语态都可。它是继续的意思。也有持续的意思。但只能在较长的时间间隔中使用:
The war continued five years. 战争持续了五年。（也可用last）

last，无被动语态 ①持续、继续…，如：
The flowers show lasted (for)a week. 花展持续了一周。

Each eye contact lasts only about a second before one or both persons look away.
