高中课本第三册上unit 5出现了What kind of advertisements do you read or watch, if any？学生对If any 句型感到难以理解,而相关的参考书又没有给出解释。其实，If any 句型是英语中常见的一个句型，类似的还有If ever, if anything, if at all,否定词little,seldom,few等经常和他们一起出现。下面我们就具体看一看他们的用法。

一．If any 意为“果真有或即令有的话”（=If there is or are any at all），起加强语气的作用。例如：

1．He has little, if any, money.

他即令有钱，也是很少的。

2．Correct mistakes, if any.

如果有错，请改一下。

3．There are few, if any, mistakes.

几乎没有什么错误。

4. What kind of advertisements do you read or watch, if any?

你平常在报刊杂志和电视上看什么样的广告，如果你看的话？

二．If ever 意为“如果曾经有过或即令有过的话”。其作用也是为了加强语气。例如：

1）They rarely, if ever, use imported materials.

他们从来不用进口的材料（即令用过的话也不多）。

2) It occurs seldom, if ever.

即有其事，也必不多。

3）She seldom, if ever, goes to the cinema.

他很少去看电影。

if ever. 如果……的话

if ever常和seldom连用，表示“很少

1. He seldom, if ever, reads a book.  他几乎从来不看书。

2. His wife seldom, if ever has a holiday.  他的妻子难得有一天休息。

3. She rarely if ever plays the piano now.  她现在极少弹钢

三．If anything(=If there is any difference.)意为“说起来；若要说；要说有什么区别的话”。If at all 在意义和用法上与之相同，例如：

1）He is, if anything, a shade better today.

如果说他有什么不同，她今天只是好了一点点。

2）The carriage of the German State railways are, if anything, better than those of the large French companies.

德国国营铁路的火车，倘有不同，比法国大公司火车要好一点。

3）If anything, a Judas is worse than a Nero.

如果要加以区别的话，犹大比尼罗更坏。

4）Although he has been on a diet for two months, he looks fatter, if anything.

虽然他已经节食两个月了，若硬要谈效果，也只是看起来比以前胖。

5）He is a little, if at all, better than a beggar.

他跟乞丐没什么区别了。
