Ice Blue is the first group of ceramic artists in China. It has been founded in 2004 by Zhou Qiang, Gan Daofu, Zhu Di, An Ruiyong and Hao Zhilei.

This art group is composed of several artists and poets. The primary intention of the commune is to return to human's natural disposition so as to promote the vigour of contemporary art. It promotes the dialogue between human’s natural disposition and reality, and the dialogue between Chinese art and international art. Ice Blue calls for the coming of a period full of free creation spirit.

Since its foundation, Ice Blue has received the widespread attention of  both domestic and foreign artistic, professional, and academic organizations. In particular, the ceramic works reflect the new kind of depth and breadth in this group’s vision of contemporary art, so as to encourage the visitor to think through a different perspective. Ice Blue represents a colourful, multi-layered stage of contemporary art.

Presently, Ice Blue has many facilities for academic creation, artistic debate, and exhibit exchange, such as the Chinese Jingdezhen Loft Base, the Jingdezhen Blue and White Porcelain Academy, the Chinese Mt. Huangshan Guiyuan, the Chinese Contemporary Ceramics Hall, and the Italian Venice Catai Art Space.
