日本福岛核电站放射物质的泄漏使人想起了25年前苏联切尔诺贝利核电站爆炸事故，那是一场灭顶之灾，至今令人悲伤。1986年4月26日凌晨1点23分，位于乌克兰基辅州普里皮亚特的切尔诺贝利核电站的发电机组发生故障，核反应堆全然爆炸，大量的放射线物质被释放出来，因此切尔诺贝利事件被认为是历史上最严重的核能发电厂意外事故。切尔诺贝利曾经是前苏联的骄傲，被认为是世界上最安全、最可靠的核电站。但1986年4月26日的一声巨响彻底打破了这一神话，核电站的第4号核反应堆在进行半烘烤实验中突然发生失火，引起爆炸，其威力相当于500颗美国投在日本的原子弹，爆炸使机组被完全损坏，8吨多强辐射物质泄露，尘埃随风飘散，致使俄罗斯、白俄罗斯和乌克兰许多地区遭到核辐射的污染。事件所造成的死亡人数难以精确计算，据绿色和平组织所估计，总伤亡人数是9万3千人，但是最新一份报告显示，从1990年到2004年间可能已经造成20万起额外的潜在死亡。至今，俄罗斯、乌克兰和白俄罗斯依旧在为清理切尔诺贝利事件所造成的污染及引起的健康问题付出极大的代价。今年4月26日是切尔诺贝利核电站爆炸事故25周年，让我们一起参观一下今天是一片废墟的切尔诺贝利吧。
