（引用）Chicago, the birthplace of the modern skyscraper is still a trendsetter in urban architecture and is a must for people interested in 20th century urban architecture.

But the Windy City offers a lot more than architecture alone: it is a bustling city, it is home to many great museums and it has some of the best Blues clubs.
It is also a great city to live in, especially the northern part of the city has a great lively atmosphere and even nice beaches. The last decade, more and more luxury apartments are being built downtown, luring the Chicagoans back to the downtown area (better known as the Loop) in an attempt to reverse the exodus from downtown Chicago.

    在芝加哥市中心穿越，你不可能不被道路两旁应接不暇的美丽建筑所吸引。芝加哥市街呈方格网状分布，是非常典型的Block by block格局。风格各异的现代化高层建筑紧密排列，的确是建筑系的学生最该游览的城市之一。

    尽管有如此的城市规模，芝加哥的空气仍然非常干净，湛蓝的天空下，感觉不到一点尘土。

 Ano Tower是芝加哥第二高楼，仅次于Sears Tower。大厦总共83层，总高度346米。在世界上300米以上的高楼中，它是唯一一座规则的长方体建筑。大厦的4个面都是15列规则的黑色窗户。整座建筑简洁大方，在各种花样百出的建筑群中，这种平凡反而成了一种超脱的不平凡。

下图中，Michigan Avenue大道的右边是Millennium Park，右下角的头像是著名的Crown Fountain，由西班牙艺术家Jaume Plensa设计。头像的嘴巴能喷水，而头像据说是源自芝加哥的普通市民。每隔一段时间Crown Fountain都会换脸。看过prison break（越狱）的朋友也许会对这个场景有印象。

 Cloud Gate算是芝加哥市中心一带最吸引眼球的现代雕塑作品。它像一个神秘的魔球，把天空和附近的各式建筑收藏其中。

芝加哥的博物馆为数不少。 Art Institute of Chicago的历史更超过100年。在芝加哥最好能逗留一个月，把所有现代艺术瑰宝细细的挖掘一遍。

The Grant Park,据说是为了纪念越战阵亡士兵而建的。奥巴马竞选好像也在这里发了言。

北美五大湖之一，密西根湖。湖水非常干净，这充分说明了芝加哥政府和人民有很强的环保意识。

芝加哥的中国城不大，也在Downtown附近。这个停车场一小时收费4美金。牌子的左下角的建筑是全美国最高的大楼Sears Tower，也是目前世界第三高楼。可惜这次没有时间去楼顶鸟瞰芝加哥全景。
