Do I have a shot at winning Chinese Idol?

Or even coming in third
place?
(I just wrote this blog post and my evil computer erased it!!! What is up with that?! Never mind, I am undeterred and undaunted, avanti Aventurina!)
I miss writing in English, although today I don't really have something in particular to talk about. Here are
just a few updates:
I've been doing my taxes ... la di daaa
I've been ordering masses of songwriting books off the internet. (Can I become John Mayer in the next
couple of months?)
My room mate is concerned about my spendings: I bought the Canon Vixia HF100 (I know, I hate it too when people use technical language to talk about their beloved trinkets, video games and cars, it's like a secret love language), and seeing me brandish my new camera in a pool of opened wrappers and cables, he spaketh: "You know Aventurina, you really shouldn't be spending that much, we are in a financial crisis." My argument is: if
no one is going to save Canon from going down, than I must do
it!
Having appropriated the Canon Vixia (I worship it), I proceeded to make a very embarrassing video blog of myself (below) speaking Chinese. I've noticed that I move my head around
a lot when I speak, I look up at the ceiling, there are also the
frantic graspy hand movements. I will work on
remedying that.
I've been daydreaming about making MTVs. I want
to make an improved Chinese version of Christina Aguilera's
"Beautiful" MTV, because it actually only features beautiful young
girls who are actually beautiful (young-skinny-big-eyed) "no matter
what they say" and "words can't bring them down."
So my video would feature people from all different walks of life
including elderly women. Do you remember the
picture in Vanity Fair of the writer of "the year of magical
thinking" by Annie Liebovitz? I do, and it was
gorgeous, so I would love to have a video featuring lots of wise
and graceful old women in dramatic or saint-aura-like
lighting.
Finally, I'm getting mentally prepared, to getting actually prepared to participating in Supergirls, the Chinese equivalent of American Idol. So here is the deal behind the
scenes, a friend told me (and most undoubtedly he got the info from
another friend, who got it from another ... so all this will have
to be fact checked) that generally, the winner of Supergirls is the
daughter of an investor in the show. Other thing
to know (and this comes from a person who has actually been on the
show), if you get to the last few rounds, the show asks you to sign
a contract making you an artist of exclusively their record label,
if you don't sign ... kiddo, you're out! I think
a lot of kiddos choose the out option.
My primary goal is to actually get on the show.
The rest is just bliss no matter what.
