英语中的双重否定句

一、but 与其他词语搭配用于双重否定句

1、But for the sun, all the living things could not live on the earth.

  假如没有太阳，所有生物在地球上都不能生存。

（注：but for+名词表示要不是或没有之意，一般用于虚拟条件。）

2、But that we did the experiment, we could not have got the correct result.

（注：but that+从句是“假使……不”之意，通常用于虚拟条件。）

3、In our workshop not a machine but what was designed and made by ourselves.

在我们车间，没有一台机器不是我们自行设计和制造的。

4、No man is so old but he may learn.

   没有人老到不能学习。

5、There is no one but answers it.

没有一个人回答不上来。

二、without构成的双重否定句

1、without friction,there could be no brake.

   没有摩擦也就不会有制动。

2、Without substances,there could be no world.

   没有物质也就没有世界。

3、One can not succeed without perseverance.

   人无毅力不能成事。

三、介词短语in the absence of 构成的双重否定句

1、In the absence of gravity,there would be no air around the earth.

   没有重力，地球周围就没有空气。

2、In the absence of radar,the pilot in an airplane could not fly for a long distance at night.

没有雷达，飞行员在夜间不能长途飞行。

四、含有unless一词的双重否定句

1、There is no work unless there is motion.

如果没有运动，也就没有功。

2、There are no sound waves unless there is sound.

   如果没有声音，也就没有声波。

五、其他形式的双重否定句

1、If it were not for enough acceleration,the earth satellite would not get into space.

   如果没有足够的加速度，卫星是不能进入太空的。

2、It is impossible for a body at rest to move without an external force.

   没有外力，静止的物体不可能移动。

3、There is nothing unexpected.

   一切都在预料中。

4、The flowing of electricity through a wire is not unlike that of water through a pipe.

   电流通过导线就像水流过管子一样。
