Mine be a cot beside the hill;                              

山脚边是俺家茅棚；

 A bee-hive's hum shall soothe my ear;                         

　蜂群嗡嗡悦耳声声；

A willowy brook that turns a mill,                            

拐过磨坊柳溪盈盈，

 With many a fall shall linger near.                         

 几多瀑布闲挂毗邻。

 

The swallow, oft, beneath my thatch                           

草舍檐下衔泥飞燕－

 Shall twitter from her clay-built nest;                       

　常筑窝巢燕语呢喃；

Oft shall the pilgrim lift the latch,                           

时有香客撩启门栏，

 And share my meal, a welcome guest.                           

　与我一同欣然共餐。

 

Around my ivied porch shall spring                            

春藤环绕俺家门廊，

 Each fragrant flower that drinks the dew;                     

　百花饮露阵阵馨香；

And Lucy, at her wheel, shall sing                            

露茜手摇纺机歌唱－

 In russet gown and apron blue.                            

 土布袍裙蓝色衣装。

 

The village-church among the trees,                           

乡村教堂在树林间，

 Where first our marriage-vows were given,                     

　当初互赠新婚誓言，

With merry peals shall swell the breeze                         

微风渐起，钟声怡然，

 And point with taper spire to Heaven.
